1859 Oregon's Magazine adds Whole Foods Market as distribution partner across the Pacific Northwest
June 14, 2009
BEND, OR—Beginning July, patrons of Whole Foods Market throughout the Pacific Northwest will find 1859 Oregon's Magazine for sale in its checkout aisles.
“We're enormously pleased that 1859's premier issue will be available in the network of Whole Foods Markets in Oregon, Washington and California,” said Kevin Max, 1859 editor and Deschutes Media partner. “The Whole Foods Market ethic is a perfect fit with 1859's local-farm-to-table 'Home Grown' department. We look forward to exploring opportunities to expand our relationship with Whole Foods going forward.”
“We see this partnership with Whole Foods Market as further validation that 1859 is gaining broad market acceptance in anticipation of our premier issue in July,” said Heather Johnson, 1859 director of sales and marketing, and Deschutes Media partner.
This relationship adds to 1859's growing distribution that also includes Borders, and Barnes & Noble bookstores. With distribution throughout Oregon and northern California and Washington, 1859 will target Oregon's largest travel and in-migration markets.
Deschutes Media, the publisher of 1859 Oregon's Magazine, will embark on an Oregon summer launch tour beginning early July and rolling into dozens of towns throughout July and August.
